So.... Tired.... Today....

I want to put my head down on my desk, close my eyes, and let the drool puddle beneath my slackened jaw as I catch 40 winks in a desperate attempt to clear my sleep-heavy head. My alarm went off this morning, right when it was supposed to - I suppose - but I don't really remember it. I just remember waking up at 7:00, looking at the digital display and exclaiming aloud (to the dog, and to the Ghost Cat), "Oh s***!" Launching myself out of bed, I proceeded to get ready. (I did not forget to take the dog out and I've always known she was slow...but does she have to be that slow? Does every blessed blade of grass need to be thoroughly sniffed and examined before she decides to pee? Cripes!) I was saying silent, but fervent, prayers of thanks that I shower and get my clothes ready the night before, so all I had to do was actually get dressed, grab a Coke from the fridge (the last one, remind me I need to go to the store tonight) and remember to lock the door behind me when I leave. My shift starts (officially) at 7:30 AM - and I clocked in at 7:31 AM! I'm either very very good, or simply very very lucky. Doesn't change the fact that all I can think of is a nice, warm bed (or even the floor under my desk - no one will see me there, right?) and sleep, sleep, sleep. I'm sure the coffee I'm sipping is at least 24 hours old but I simply don't care today. Hmmm...maybe I shouldn't have spent 2 hours working in the storage building in our back yard last night. I wonder if the exposure to all the dust, dirt and disintegrating bug parts made me have trouble sleeping? No...I suppose not - but I did get to bed no later than 10PM, and I saw 11:30 PM, 2:00 AM, 4:00 AM, 5:00 AM (this is when my alarm went off - and I actually did get out of bed for a moment, yet somehow I found myself back there seconds later) and then 7:00 AM. No traumas, except the cough that plagued me all frikkin' night. I think I broke a rib. Sigh. Maybe tonight will be better. TTFN JMS PS: Thanks for allowing me to vent! I'm still tired, but I feel better about it! ☺

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by-it's fun to meet you! I just read your past 2 posts and I think I have found yet another friend who I will categorize under "Friends with Humor" in my head (along with Life With Dogs author).

Chester has always had a thing for pens and paper. Maybe someday he will become a famous writer and I can stay home in the kennel all day. ;0=)

I feel your pain....have watched the clock on many nights and can't say I'll ever get used to it.
Can't say I've ever done the shoe thing but hey, there's always hope and if it does, it will lighten up somebody else's day and what's wrong with that?

Now go warm up that 24 hr. old coffee and get back to sleep.

LOL! Sorry I just had to laugh. It's not good but kind of funny! Your supposed to be relaxing and enjoying the quiet! Tell them you are sick and go home, curl up on the couch and watch some soaps or something.

Karrie - Soaps? You mean like the scented bar things in the bathroom (boring) or the sappy crappy on TV (nauseating)? LOL! And I've already put in for this coming Friday off...so going home sick today would just be dumb. Though man, would I love to do just that!

Chester's Mom - Glad you came by! Hope you spend lots and lots of time here! I know I'll be back to visit you, too!

...heading to the microwave to heat up the ancient coffee-flavored swill!

Sounds like you have nowhere to go but up. Try riding the Nyquil train tonight - you'll kill the cough and enjoy a free buzz on your way to sleep : )
